Buying on this platform
The rules that govern firearms purchases vary by state. Some of those rules we can apply for you automatically — the rest are your responsibility. This page explains which is which, summarizes the most consequential state rules, and walks through what happens between a winning bid and the firearm arriving at your licensed pickup point.
What this platform enforces
Every listing on this platform carries compliance attributes declared by the seller — type of firearm, magazine capacity, NFA classification, caliber, declared features (e.g. threaded barrel, pistol grip), and barrel / overall length. We pair that with a per-state restriction profile and either allow the listing to ship to your state or hide / disable it. Example: a 30-round detachable magazine on an AR-15 will be hidden and bid-blocked for buyers whose preferred FFL dealer is in California.
The check uses the ship-to state of your preferred FFL, not your home address — see the pickup section below. That keeps the platform out of the business of collecting personal address data while still applying the relevant rules.
What you must verify yourself
State-level eligibility goes well beyond the item itself. We do not and will not collect the personal-history data needed to enforce buyer-side rules — doing so would require a level of personal-data retention this platform refuses on principle. Examples of rules that are your responsibility to verify:
- California's 30-day rule — you cannot acquire a second firearm within 30 days of the first (with limited exceptions).
- State permit / FOID / FPIC / HQL / LTC requirements — most restrictive states require a current state-issued permit before any transfer can complete at your FFL.
- Eligibility to possess (criminal history, restraining orders, etc.).
- Local-jurisdiction rules above the state floor (NYC, certain MD counties, Cook County IL, etc.).
By bidding, you are representing that you have verified your own eligibility for the item under the law of your state and locality. We surface a short reminder every first time you bid on an auction.
State-by-state summary
Pick your state for a 30-second read of the rules we know about. The fact panel up top covers the four things that decide most listings; the paragraph beneath fills in the rest. Find a pickup FFL
Every win ships to the licensed FFL dealer you select — never to a residence. You can browse dealers near you below; once you create an account you can lock one in as your preferred pickup point.
Enter a ZIP, dealer name, or city above.
Shipping & pickup
Firearms are never shipped to a residence. When you set up your account you select a licensed FFL dealer near you — every firearm you win is shipped to that dealer, not to your home. Pickup at the FFL is at no additional cost: the FFL is reimbursed by the platform.
The dealer performs the same checks they would on any in-store sale — valid government-issued ID, address verification where required, the state-mandated waiting period (e.g. 10 days in California), background check, and any state permit verification. Bring whatever paperwork your state requires; the dealer cannot complete the transfer if you are missing documents or do not meet eligibility.
If pickup is refused
If at pickup you turn out to be ineligible — failed background check, missing permit, locality-specific bar, etc. — the firearm will be returned to the seller. The first time this happens to you, the platform covers the round-trip shipping. You receive a full refund.
On a second time, the round-trip shipping cost (both legs — to the FFL and back to the seller) is deducted from your refund. The remainder is returned to your original payment method. Bid only when you've verified you can take possession.
Who sells on this platform
Every seller on this platform is a licensed firearms broker (Federal Firearms License holder). We do not host consumer-to-consumer transactions. We verify each seller's FFL on application, monitor expiration dates, and auto-suspend listings the moment a license lapses. If you buy on this platform you are buying from a vetted dealer — never from an unverified individual.
